ALusource is pleased to collaborate with Alcomet AD, a leading Bulgarian manufacturer of flat-rolled and extruded aluminum products, with over 40 years of industry experience. Their state-of-the-art plant in Shumen, Bulgaria, integrates the entire downstream production cycle, including billet and coil casting, extrusion, cold rolling, and the manufacturing of prefabricated components—all under one roof. Equipped with cutting-edge technological solutions, the plant boasts a total production capacity of 100,000 tons per year.

Alcomet’s Rolling Plant houses a cold-rolling mill, a foil-breakdown mill, and three foil mills. This division is complemented by advanced finishing lines for slitting, degreasing, cut-to-length, and embossing, allowing them to produce a wide range of products suitable for diverse industries, including packaging, construction, automotive, and heat exchangers.

Billets are produced utilizing one of the most advanced technologies available on the market – Wagstaff Hot Top Billet Casting System. The line is dedicated to “soft alloys” production covering 1xxx and 6xxx series alloys. Chemical composition is guaranteed according to international standards or customer specification. Billet diameters: 4”, 6”, 7” and 8”.

Alcomet operates an Extrusion plant with 5 presses ranging from 600 tons to 2500 tons. The main focus is on soft alloys for the architecture, building and construction sector and, advertising, transportation and machine-building. The latest addition to the company’s extrusion facilities is a new generation 25 MN HybrEx® extrusion press which enables Alcomet to extrude profiles with a CCD up to 300 mm and wall thickness as low as 0.8 mm. 

Alcomet offers in-house anodizing and powder coating. Anodizing is available in several colors, including silver, gold, bronze, and black, in a standard matte finish, or with additional pretreatment such as sandblasting or brushing. Their powder coating service provides a broad array of colors, either based on RAL standards or custom specifications. 

With its highly automated European made state-of-the-art equipment, Alcomet can supply a wide variety of fabricated parts made from aluminum extruded profiles, such as, automotive chassis components and parts for electric battery modules. Fabrication capabilities include cutting, milling, punching, washing and passivation, deburring, assembly, and laser marking.
